Two Are Better Than One
By Carol Ryrie Brink
Published by New York, Macmillan, (1968)
Summary:
This is the story of Cordy and Chrys, two girls caught inbetween being young girls and growing into teenagers. They have been best friends their whole lives and still cling to many of their imaginary games and ways of thinking. They are also budding writers and begin to write an book together.
My Review:
This book was published in 1968 and used to belong to my mother so I have always had it in my home. I decided to read it and even though it was extremely corny and I never want to hear the word "Gee" again, I actually loved it in a way. The story is autobiographical of the author and her best friend growing up in Idaho. I completely related to it remembering my best friend adn the crazy things we would do, the dreams we had, and the transitions we have had to make our whole lives. The fact that they wrote a story together makes their intimate friendship even more endearing because it is so important to them and I used to do that as well. It's just a corny, fell-good read.
