Summary:
Cyd Charisse's stepfather refers to her as a "recovering hellion." She lives in San Francisco and lives with a wealthy family, has a boyfriend named "Shrimp", and is unfortunately kicked out of boarding school. She is sent to live with her biological father and his new family in New York City. She has trouble finding herself totally fitting in with either family, but is able to become more mature as she learns how.
My Review:
This book was told from an interesting narrator who I didn't like at first because I could not relate to her at all. Eventually I found myself liking her more and more and it helped me realize that it is so much easier to judge someone you do not know well, and I felt that was my realtionship with this character.
WARNING: strained family relationships, teen rebellion, abortion, language
The main character was named after Cyd Charisse, a dancer who performed in musicals "Singin' in the Rain" and "Brigadoon" among others, check out this tribute to her!
