Stuck in Neutral

Summary:
Shawn McDaniel is one of the most intelligent boys you'll ever meet - and he has a perfect auditory memory. He can remember every conversation he's ever heard, every song, every commercial. He loves learning and observing the world around him. Restricted by Cerebral Palsy, Shawn is confined to a wheelchair and completely dependent on others to take care of him. His family loves him of course, but what does his father mean when he says he wants to put Shawn "out of his misery"?

My Review:
I thought this book was a brilliant look into the mind of someone who can't communicate his thoughts and ideas verbally and physically, but his mind is whirring like mad. The author has a child with Cerebral Palsy so I'm sure writing what his son must be thinking and feeling was an emotional experience that helped him understand his son and helps readers connect with someone in Shawn's condition.

Below is a video about Dick and Rick Hoyt (aka Team Hoyt). Click to watch this inspirational story of a father that would do anything for his son with cerebral palsy.
