The Taking of Room 114

The Taking of Room 114: A Hostage Drama in Poems
By Mel Glenn

Published by: Dutton Juvenile, 1997

Summary:
This book in told in free-verse poetry from all teh students in Mr. Weidermeyer's senior history class from their Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years, as well as the fateful day when they walk in (or skip) the class in which they will be held hostage by a disturbed teacher.

My Review:
I loved this book! We get to rea the history, struggles, happiness, and dreams of the students and we see the progression of how they deal with the issues they are facing right up until they walk into class and are struck by the fear that those events might never happen.

WARNING: language, sex, teen pregnancy, teacher holding students hostage, family disputes, death
