Soldiers, Survivors, and Storytellers Talk About War
Edited by Marc Aronson and Patty Campbell.
Published by: Candlewick
Summary:
This book is filled with first-hand accounts of many people somehow associated with several different wars throughout the past 100ish years. They are told from the perspective of survivors, soldiers, reporters, etc.
My Review:
This was one of the books I want everyone to read so they can begin to understand exactly what war is. I wasn't even sure what my opinions were when I was finished reading this book but I did feel like I had been informed and could make better decisions and opinions with more peoples' perspectives in mind. It is thought-provoking and lets a reader feel more connected with those who have fought for their respective countries.
WARNING: Strong language, death, torture, dehumanization, and adult themes not for very young readers.
